Flux+ Vol.0

Flux+ Vol.0 is the prototype edition of a new live event series launched by SPEKTRA, held at BIRD—a dance studio in Kyoto equipped with a large LED vision wall. Featuring five diverse performances, the event offered a platform for rethinking the interplay between image and sound through live experimentation. Creators were invited to try out new audiovisual ideas in a flexible environment that embraced risk, imperfection, and even failure. The format of the event itself—including its structure and organization—was also treated as part of the experimentation.

Building on the spirit of our 2019 event “Inter+,” Flux+ focuses on the constant flow and transformation of technology. The word “Flux” signifies movement and change, and this event aimed to explore the dynamic interactions of evolving tools and expressions. Rather than presenting only polished works, Flux+ encouraged raw attempts and open-ended processes, fostering new connections among creators and audiences alike. What made this prototype edition meaningful was the collective presence of everyone who performed, supported, and attended the event.

Flux+ Vol.0は、SPEKTRAによって立ち上げられた新しいライブイベントシリーズのプロトタイプ版であり、大型LEDビジョンを備えた京都のダンススタジオ「BIRD」にて開催されました。5組による多様なパフォーマンスを通じて、映像と音響の相互作用を再考する場を提供し、未完成や実験的な試みが歓迎される自由な空間として機能しました。表現だけでなく、イベントの形式や運営そのものも実験の対象とし、柔軟な運営の中で試行錯誤を重ねる場となりました。

このイベントでは、2019年に開催した「Inter+」の精神を引き継ぎつつ、「Flux（流れ／変化）」というテーマのもとで、テクノロジーの交差と変容の可能性を模索しました。完成された表現を見せる場というより、むしろその過程や試みに価値を見出し、多様な背景を持つ人々が出会い、交流し、新しいつながりが生まれることを目指しました。このプロトタイプが実現できたのは、出演者、協力者、そして来場者を含めたすべての人の存在があってこそだと感じています。
